Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Featuring international superstar Tom Cruise and a star-studded cast, the sixth edition of the superhit franchise Mission Impossible is back with more action and thrills. Many critics have called it the best installment of the series, and some have even hailed it as one of the greatest action films of all times. As always, there is a secret mission that is to be implemented. As always, it’s gone disastrously wrong, and it is up to Agent Hunt and his team to avert an international terrorist attack that threatens, in this case, India and its neighboring countries! Best of all, most of the movie’s most stunning visuals take place against the beautiful backdrop of Kashmir where the climax of the movie is shot.

Fanney Khan

Based on the 2002 Belgian superhit Everybody’s Famous!, the movie features Anil Kapoor as the titular Fanney Khan, who is a loving, encouraging father to Lata, who has a beautiful voice and musical aspirations. And obviously, the best way to that is to kidnap the reigning queen of the music industry, Baby Singh, Played by Aishwarya Rai! Enjoy a crazy ride as Anil Kapoor plays a father who will do anything to make sure that his daughter gets the recognition she deserves, and Baby Singh finds love with Fanney Khan’s friend and co-kidnapper, played by Rajkummar Rao.

Karwaan

A light hearted comedy featuring stellar performances by Irrfan Khan, Karwaan features the adventures of three misfits on the weirdest road trip of all times. Dulqeer Salman, who makes his debut in the movie, plays Avinash, a disgruntled IT professional with dreams of being a photographer, who must travel to claim the body of his father which was sent to the wrong family by mistake! Add in his eccentric friend Shauqat, played by Irrfan Khan, and a spunky, beautiful girl Tanya, played by Mithila Parkar, and you have a crazy adventure which is fun for the whole family!

Mulk

This Independence Day, if you are in the mood for a film that is riveting and raises critical issues of religious identities in real life, Mulk is the must watch movie for you. Based on a true story, the film courted controversy when it was banned in Pakistan on its international release. Starring Rishi Kapoor and directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film asks unflinching questions, portrays all the nuances of our divided society, and shows how religion and nationalism are not enemies. The movie brings to the large screen a gripping story that is centered around a man of honour, who is as proud of his religion as he is of his country, India.

Mamma Mia! Here we go again

If you are in the mood for something different, though, check out Mamma Mia! Here we go again, a musical romantic comedy, a long-awaited sequel to the original Mamma Mia movie. A roller coaster ride of emotions and featuring some truly toe-tapping soundtracks, Mamma Mia! has been one of the biggest earners on the international box office this year.
